    Microcurrent for Face lift???

One of my patient told me that she purchased a microcurrent device from Ebay for increasing skin tone/smooth the wrinkle and fine lines. I wonder if those microcurrent salon device produce the same wave as Alpha-stim. Is anyone out there used Alpha-stim around the face and get responses other than reducing the pain??

I have heard that Alpha-Stim has been used for that successfully but we do not nor will we promote it for that. Those devices are nothing like Alpha-Stim. That is like saying I know someone that used a 5 mg white pill for their heart problem once; is that like all the other 5 mg white pills in the PDR? It is primarily the waveform that differentiates one device from another and unfortunately, we won or settled in our favor quite a few lawsuits with those that tried to copy our proprietary Alpha-Stim technology.

Ebay can not legally sell Alpha-Stim or any other legitimate medical device without prescriptions.

As to cosmetic devices and knock-offs in general, before buying or using one I suggest you check the research, if any, and the FDA approval, if any. When you think about it, you can purchase a Bose FM stereo in 2007 and hear great sound, or you can pick up a 1967 Radio Shack FM radio and listen to static. Now consider that you are putting an electrical signal directly into your brain. Do you really want the cheapest possible device you can find?

When you treat the face for wrinkles with untested devices you might be causing brain damage. There is a good reason that transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulators (TENS) are contraindicated for use on the head and neck. Medical devices are not toys. They should be treated with the same caution as drugs. All I can say is watch what you buy and who you are buying from. It is caveat emptor in this business!
