You asked me to write and tell you about my experiences with Alpha-Stim. Within 3 weeks I slept well and woke refreshed for the first time in 30 years. I also noticed I felt much calmer in dealing with tough clinical situations faced by a general Psychiatrist. Within 4 1/2 months I noticed that I was tracking better and staying on time. I suffer from ADD and this clarity allowed me to titrate off my medication without recurrent symptoms over the next 6 to 8 months The first benefit was cessation of my migraine headaches which I noticed after about 10 months of intensive treatment. Prior to using CoQ10 and Alpha-Stim I had been suffering from migraines every Saturday morning and every first day of vacations, with the offset of stress. As I got to menopause my migraines were increasing in frequency, intensity and duration. They had also become more resistant to the Tryptors. I hesitated to accept social interactions especially on Saturdays and had to ask friends to call me on the day of the event to see if I was able to attend. Each of the 3 treatments mentioned decreased the frequency of migraines by about 1/3. Since sometime before August 2007 I have had one migraine.
My use of Alpha-Stim began in October 2006 with the daily 20 minutes recommended. I often got to 500 or 600 microamperes (Alpha-Stim 100 device). After 3 or 4 episodes the vague feeling of disequilibrium had disappeared so I began adding my commuting time which was a second half hour daily. I began to demonstrate the treatment to patients in the office using myself as the subject and would leave it on. Ultimately I was using it 2 to 3 hours a day. I know the treatment is cumulative.
I use it this way until November 2007 then very infrequently after that. I use it to get back to sleep when I’m on call and if I notice I’m less calm. This might take a few days to a week.
This treatment has changed my life and given me my weekends back. I have moved away from the potential disability the migraines were threatening. Thank you for this gift of Alpha-Stim.
