Selfless service. Personal courage. These are two of the core Army values that men and women in uniform vow to uphold while serving in that branch of the U.S. Military.
While every day of service requires courage and selflessness, it takes a special kind of grit to persevere after a combat-related injury. What follows is a letter from a 38-year old bomb technician – still currently serving, with 20 years of Active Duty – relating his personal experience.
In 2008, I was hit with a monster of a blast, which blew out my right ear drum and caused a noticeable traumatic brain injury and irreversible nerve damage to my right arm. I had struggled through the pain for nearly 10 years before my wife (a nurse) forced my hand at taking a sleep study.
This EEG from this appointment encouraged military doctors to refer me to the Intrepid Center (TBI clinic) here at Fort Campbell where I received premium care and attention.
Through the process of my therapy I was recommended to try Alpha-Stim M for anxiety, insomnia, and pain management. Up until this evening, I had only been using the earclips for insomnia and the probes for local treatment of pain in my right arm. Tonight out of desperation (pain), I tried your electrodes on my upper arm (above the elbow) and back of the hand to treat my ulnar nerve pain in my right arm.
I found a great reduction in resting pain (from a 4 to a 0) and an extension pain that I would call a 2-3 from a hard 8. I ran the electrodes at a current level of 6 for a total of 40 minutes and I am amazed at the results.
Thank you for your product. Thank you for a non-medicinal option. I hope more will benefit from your product as I have.
As he mentions in his note, this Service Member was treated at an Intrepid Spirit Center, a satellite location of the National Intrepid Center of Excellence. These facilities use a multi-disciplinary approach to treat both the body and the mind of the soldier, relying on Alpha-Stim® as an integral part of their program.
Alpha-Stim is an FDA cleared, handheld medical device proven time and again to effectively treat anxiety, insomnia, and depression. It also treats acute, post-traumatic, and chronic pain, making it the ideal therapy for the inextricably linked mental and physical wounds of war.
Since Alpha-Stim is not a drug, there is no risk of addiction or lasting side effects. There is no negative impact on a Service Member’s ability to perform his or her duties. Just significant, long lasting, and often immediate relief.
The United States Military has long trusted Alpha-Stim to bring the ultimate in care to our men and women in uniform. Alpha-Stim is a key part of the U.S. Navy’s Pain Management Initiative, it has excelled in research studies conducted at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, and it is a mainstay of William Beaumont Army Medical Center’s holistic approach to treatment.
Veterans and current Service Members also sing the praises of Alpha-Stim. One Navy SEAL tried everything, but found no relief until he discovered Alpha-Stim; another veteran finally experienced a reduction in her chronic pain; and one even avoided the amputation of both of his legs with the help of Alpha-Stim.
Put simply, Alpha-Stim works – and it works well.
Alpha-Stim is available at more than half of the nation’s VAs. For more information and additional testimonials, Veterans and current Service Members can visit alpha-stim.com/military, or call 1-800-FOR-PAIN and ask to speak to Government Services. We’re here to help – and we thank you for your service.
Alpha-Stim uses cranial electrotherapy stimulation (CES) delivered through a patented waveform via two earclip electrodes to treat anxiety, insomnia, and depression. Microcurrent electrical therapy (MET) delivers pain relief directly to the source of discomfort via two handheld Smart Probes.
The safety and effectiveness of Alpha-Stim is backed by over 100 independent clinical research studies.
