Electromedical Products International Inc. awarded a Federal Supply Schedule contract for Alpha-Stim® – Alpha-Stim

Mineral Wells, July 19, 2016: Electromedical Products International Inc., the manufacturer of the Alpha-Stim®, a medical device used to treat anxiety, insomnia, depression and pain, announced today, it has been awarded a Federal Supply Schedule (FSS) contract. The five-year FSS contract supports the delivery of Alpha-Stim devices into the federal medical facilities of the Department of Defense and the VA, one of the largest integrated health care delivery systems in the country with over 170 hospitals.

“We have been supplying Alpha-Stim devices to the VA and Department of Defense hospitals for many years. We welcome this renewed contract, which makes accessing our devices easier and allows us to continue growing our list of customers who are successfully using Alpha-Stim technology to address the burden of mental health and pain complaints, thereby ensuring improved patient outcomes,” said Tracey Kirsch, President of EPI.

The Alpha-Stim AID, which is the size of a smartphone, sends microcurrents of electricity to the brain. These painless pulses of electrical current which measure less than one milliampere, increase a patient’s naturally occurring alpha waves to create a less anxious state of mind.

The treatment takes around 20 minutes a day. Small electrodes, similar to clip-on earrings, are placed on the earlobes with wires running to the device. Patients undergoing Alpha-Stim treatments appear as though they are listening to music on their smartphone.

Alpha-Stim CES and MET devices are FDA cleared and CE marked as safe and effective treatment for anxiety, insomnia, depression and pain. The patented Alpha-Stim waveform is proven safe by over 35 years of use as a stand-alone and adjunct non-pharmaceutical therapy. Alpha- Stim is supported by more scientific research than any therapeutic medical device in its class.
